Herbert G. Mutchler
Herbert G. Mutchler, 64, a well known Easton banker and a resident
of this vicinity all his life, died at his home, 125 South
12th steet at 620 o'clock last evening after an illness of
three years. He was born in Glendon, a son of the late Valentine
and Susanna Mutchler. His wife, Mrs. Ida C. Walter Mutchler,
died two years ago. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutherna
Church.
He received his education in the Glendon schools and Trach's
Academy this city. In his youth he assisted his father in farm
duties. On June 15 1892, he entered the finanical field by
joining the Easton Trust Company, in a clerical capacity. On
march 27, 1906 he was appointed teller and on march 30, 1915.
Mr. Mutchler was made assistant treasurere. On December 31,
1918, he was advanced to the position of secretary and treasurer,
and held this position until thee years ago when he retired.
Deceased is survived by a son, Valentine Mutchler, at home;
three brothers and two sisters, Frank A. Mutchler, at home;
three brothers and two sisters, Frank A. Mutchler, of Bayonne,
N.J.; Oscar J. Harry V., the Misses Mary and Hattie Mutchler
of west Easton, and a granddaughter.
