Edwin L. Mixsell, Steeel salesman, Native of Easton
Edwin Leighton Mixsell, 58, of 150 N. 28th St. Allentown, a
native of Easton, died at 4 P.m. Saturday at his home.
Mr. Mixsell was a salesman in the pipe and tube sales of the
Bethlehem Steel Co. He began his career with Bethlehem Steel
in 1922 in the Saucon open hearth shop, a year later he was
transferred to the drop forge and in 1925 was assigned to the
Lehigh mill metallorgraphical laboratory.
In 1927, following a year in the alloy open hearth shop at
Bethelehm, he was transferred to the plate mill at Sparrows
Point, Md., and then moved into the pipe mill.
He returned to Bethlehem in 1928 in the pipe and tube sales,
and in 1937 became a salesman in the division.
Mr. Mixsell was a son of the late Austin David and Hannah
G. Grais Mixsell. His father formerly was a vice president
of sales for Bethlehem Steel.
Mr. Mixsell attended the Choate School, Wallingord, Conn.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown; Greenleaf
Lodge 5651, F&AM, Lehigh Country Club and Lehigh Valley
Club.
Surviving are his widow, the former Louise G. Gradwohl; a
daughte, a brother, John D. Springtown; A sister, Mrs. Stuart
Hockenbury, Bethlehem, and two grandsons.
The funeral wil be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the J. S.
Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown. |
