Jacob A. Miller Dies at Age 61
Was Long in Plumbing Business and Active in Fraternal Affairs
Jacob A. Miller of 1203 Washignton street, proprietor of a
plumbing and heating business and prominent in fraternal organizations
died of heart disease at his home this morning at 3:25 after
an illness of four weeks.
He was born in Easton on March 18, 1870, and was a son of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob J. Miller. Mr. Miller conducted
a plumbing and heating business at 12th and Washington Streets
during the past 42 years. Deceased was a member of Zion Lutheran
Church. He served on the church council 40 consecutive years,
and taught Bible class for many years.
Mr. Miller was president of the Easton Housing and Improvemnt
Corporation; direct of Rocks Products Company, and director
of Careva Comapny at York. Fraternally, Mr. Miller was affilated
with Camp 407 P. O. S. of A.; Vanderveer Lodge, No 1105, I.
O. O. F; Dallas Lodge. No 396, F. and A. M.; Easton Chapter,
No. 173, Royal Arch Mason; Pomp Council, No 20, Royal and Select
Mater Masons; Lehigh Consistory, Scottish Rite Masonry; Hugh
De Payens Commandery, No. 19 Knights Templar; Rajah Temple,
Nobles of the Mystic Shrine , and Easton Forest, No. 35, Tall
Cedars of Lebanon.
Mr. Miller is survived by two sons, Albert J. Miller, of York
and Howard F. Miller of Easton; three daughters, Helen S.,
Dorthy R. and Florence A. Miller, at home; two brothers, Herman
A. Miller and Harry C. Miller, of Easton, and two sisters,
Mrs. J. Titus Fretz and Miss Elizabeth Miller, of Easton. |
