Edward W. Massey, 66, Ex-Bakery Salesman, Serota Club Honoree
Edward W. Massey, 66, of 1441 Blair St., Palmer Township, a
former wholesale salesman for Schaible's Bakery, was pronounced
dead on arrival Saturday afternoon at Easton Hospital. He was
in ill health since August.
Mr. Massey was employed by Schaible's 45 years. He started
in the production department in 1922 and was a wholesale salesman
41 years, retiring in 1967.
He also was one of the owners of Moonlite Lodge Grove in Coffeetown.
Born Oct. 16, 1905, in Wilson, he was a son of the late Charles
Frederick and Stella Aber Massey.
He was a graduate of Wilson Hight School, class of 1924, and
a member of Washington Camp 542, POS of A. A member of the
Easton Sertoma Club since 1949, he received the Sertoman of
the Year award for his service to mankind and by making life
worthwhile in 1966.
Survivors include his widow, the former Anna Madeleine Allem;
a son, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Strunk
Funeral Home, Easton. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial
Shrine. |
