Gladys Gist, 77, of 875 Five Points-Richmond Road, Washington
Township, Northampton County, died Thursday in Borgess Medical
Center, Kalamazoo, Mich., after being stricken while on vacation.
She was the wife of Douglas J. Gist. They were married 35 years
in April.
She was a physical education equipment supervisor at Orange
Coast College, Costa Mesa, Calif., for 25 years, retiring in
1978. Before that she was a machine operator at the former
Bangor Paper Box Factory for 13 years.
Born in Factoryville, she was a daughter of the late Clayton
and Anna (Miller) Mack.
She was a member of First United Evangelical Church, Bangor.
Survivors: Husband; daughters, Doris Lukanowski of Bushkill
Township and Carol Tittle of Saylorsburg; brother, Clayton
Jr. of Palmer Township; sisters, Ethel Whittaker of Bushkill
and Roxie Orth of Bangor; stepsons, Richard of Clovis, Calif.,
Robert of Portland and James of East Bangor; stepdaughter,
Bonnie Wextler of Bath; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Dolores Rothrock, and a
son, Larry Bonney.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Hough Home for Funerals, 207 Market
