Alvin Laros, 91, Carpenter, was Easton native
Alvin Laros, 91, formerly of Easton, died yesterday at the Herring Convalescnet Home in Foourtown, Montgomery County.
Mr. Laros was a carpenter. He was a native of Easton and Lived here until 10 years ago, when he entered the convalescent home. His last residence in Easton was at 410 Porter St.
Mr. Larso was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Laros. As a carpenter he was employed successively by Horn & Steinmetz, Easton contractors: his own company, Laros and Walter Contractors; the Ashton Casket Co., and the Laros Silk Co., Bethlehem.
One of his sons, the late Russell K. Laros, who died last year, was president of the silk company.
Mr. Laros was 75 when he retired. He was a member of the Carpenters and joiners Union and Grace Evangelical and Reformed Church.
His wife, Eliza died in 1945.
His is survived by two sons, James. A. and Walter C. both of Easton; seven Grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. |
