Russell R. Knecht, 80, formerly of 3894 Hollo Road, Easton R.2, died Wednesday
in Veterans Administration Medical Center, Wilkes- Barre. He was the husband
of Emily M. (Kline) Knecht, who died in 1977.
Knecht worked in the chalk department of Binney & Smith,
Forks Township, before retiring in 1972. He previously was
a knitter at the former Kraemer Hosiery Mill, Nazareth.
Born in Belfast, he was a son of the late Howard and Sarah
(Young) Knecht.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Nazareth.
Knecht was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Erma Rumsey of Nazareth.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Belfast Union
Cemetery. The Schmidt Mortuary, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth,
is in charge of arrangements. |
