H. E. Kleckner, Retired I-R Purchasing Chief
Howard E. Kleckner, 69, of 153 W. Berwick St. former purchasing
agent for the Ingersoll-Rand Co. died last night in Easton
Hospital, where he was admitted Wednesday.
Born in Easton, May 7, 1897 he was the son of the late J.
Edward and Cora B Gebhart Kleckner.
Mr. Kleckner retired in 1962 as purchasing agent for Ingersoll-Rand
where he was employed 45 years.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and formerly
served on the church council. He was a member of Easton Lodge
152, F&AM; Easton Royal Arch Chapter 173; Hugh de Payens
Commandery 19, Knights Templar; Rajah Temple, Reading and Easton
Forest 35. Tall Cedars of Lebanon, where he was past grand
master.
He was formerly a director of a Nazareth orchestra and played
in the Tall Cedars, Shrine and Commandery bands and was assistant
conductor of the orchestra at the MORA club, Bethlehem. He
was a member of the choir at Christ Evangelical United Brethren
Church where his wife is organist and choir director.
He served as musician first class with the US Navel Reserve
Force in World War I.
Survivors include his widow, Hazel M. Moser Kleckner; His
stepmother, Mrs. Emma Davis, St. Louis, Mo; two sisters, Mrs.
Cathrine Miller and Mrs. Margaret Howard and a brother Arthur
all of St. Louis and nieces and a nephew.
The funeral will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at the Strunk Funeral
Home. |
