Mrs. Viola K. Coe
Mrs. Viola Kirkpatrick Coe, widow of George R. Coe, of this city died at 1:45 o’clock this morning at her home, No. 80 North Fourth Street, from injuries received in a fall on June 24, in descending the front staircase at her home. She tripped and fell down the steps, striking her head on a table that stood near the foot of the stairs.
She felt no ill effects from the fall immediately and apparently was not seriously hurt. Early last week her condition became serious and on Thursday last she lapsed into unconsciousness. Physicians in attendance attribute her death to a small fracture of the skull at the base of the brain.
Mrs. Coe was the daughter of the late Newton and Susan Sebring Kirkpatrick. She was born in this city and lived here all her life. Her grandfather was the late Judge William L. Sebring, of the Northampton County courts and she was a niece of former Governor John Frederick Hartranft, of Pennsylvania. She is survived by one brother, Judge William S. Kirkpatrick, of this city and by two daughters, Mrs. Margorie Tillman, wife of Dr. W. Gilbert Tillman, of Wilson Borough, and Mrs. Marion Rail, wife of Dr. Harry A. Rall of this city.
Mrs. Coe was a member of the Brainard Union Presbyterian Church and of George Taylor Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. She had a large number of friends in this city, all of whom will be grieved on learning of her death.
