William H. Kiefer, Sr.
William H. Kiefer Sr., a self-employed roofer, died yesterday morning in the Sacred Hearth Hospital where he had been a patient since early Thursday morning. He was 58.
A native of West Catasauqua, he was born a son of Henry A. and the late Laura (Frey) Keifer and was the husband of Bertha M. (Druckenmiller) Kiefer.
A resident of Allentown for the last 14 years, he resided at 529 N. Law St., , City. He had been retired for the last two years.
A veteran of World War I, he served with Headquarters Co., 51st Artillery CAC, and saw action in the Battle of Seichprey and the St. Michiel drive.
He was of the Lutheran faith and a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Allentown, and the Greenawald and Liberty Fire Co.’s.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, William H. Jr., at home, his father of West Catasauqua; four brothers, Paul of Williamsport, Roland, West Catasauqua, Clarence, Coplay and Orville of Ballietsville and one sister, Henrietta, wife of Michael Rasley, Catasauqua.
Services Saturday 1 p.m. in the Trexler Funeral Home, 116 S. 8th St., city.
