Mrs. Charles S. Mengel
Mrs. Cora S. Albert Mengel, 74 of 7th street, Tatamy, died
this morning at her home after an illness of four years. She
was the widow of Charles S. Mangel, who died in 1956.
Her first husband, Stuart E. Albert died in 1906.
Born in Forks Township, on April 14, 1882, she was a daughter
of the late Henry and Amanda Schmidt Kiefer, Mrs. Mengel had
resided in Tatamy since she was 11 years old.
She was a life member of the Forks-Salem Church and the Woman's
Guild of the Church. She was a member fo the Sunday school
and the Ladies Aid Society of St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed
Church, Tatamy.
Mrs. Mengel was a past protector of the Dames of Malta, Sisterhood
No. 204 ofthe Bushkill Valley Lodge and the auxiliary of the
Tatamy Fire Co.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Conrad J. Smith, Tatamy; a
son, Arlington A. Albert, chief accountant with the United
States Postal Service in Easton; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Messinger,
Tatamy, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be ehld Monday at 2 p.m. at the F. W. Schmidt
Mortuary, Nazareth. |
