B. J. Kane, 76; area educator
Benjamin J. Kane, 76, of 632 N. Glenwood St., Allentown, a mathematics t4eacher in Lehigh and Northampton County for 42 years, died Sunday in the Zohlman Nursing Home, Richlandtown.

He was the husband of Dorothy P. (Pierce) Kane.
Kane was an algebra teacher at Allen High School retiring in 1966.

Previously he taught at Harrison-Morton Junior High School and was a principal at Wilson School.

A 1934 graduate of Kutztown State Teachers College, Kane did graduate work at Moravian College.

He was on the board of trustees at Kutztown State College 1963-1965 and was reappointed to the position in 1969. He was elected chairman of the board in 1967.

Born in West Catasauqua, he was a son of Mrs. Hattie (Kiefer) Kane of Allentown and the late Joseph Kane, a former principal of North Catasauqua schools.

He was a member of the Church of the Mediator, Allentown.

Surviving besides his widow and mother are a son, Joseph J. of Rochester N.U. and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Calling hours will be 7-8:3- p.m. Tuesday in the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown.
