Reuben Gruver
Reuben Gruver, a building contractor in Wilson borough for
the past 23 years, died suddenly at this home, 1930 Hay Terrace,
at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. His death was caused by
a heart attack. Mr. Gruver was in the 78th year of his age.
Although Mr. Gruver had been complaining of ill heath during
the past year, he was able to about and was around his home
as usual yesterday. He was stricken at 4:30 o'clock and died
instantly.
Mr. Gruver was born at Mr. Bethel and came to Wilson borough
in 1902. Two years later he entered the contracting business
and has been one of the most successful contractors in Wilson.
Mr. Gruver was a son of the late Jacob and Julianne Reeser
Gruver.
Deceased was a member of St. John's Reformed congregation
of the Farmersville church; Tesdyuscong Tribe, No. 117, Improved
Order of Red Men, of Freemansburg, and the Northampton Motor
Club. Mr. Gruver is survived by his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Gruver;
two children, Mrs. George Uhler, and Stewart Gruver, both of
Wilson; a sister, Mrs. Hiram Raesley, of Mt. Bethel; a brother,
Willliam Gruver, of Palmer Township; five grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren.
