Hattie A. Eickhoff, 96, formerly of 129 Broadway, Bangor, died Friday, Oct. 19,
in Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township, where she resided. She was the wife of
the late Granville G. Eickhoff.
She was a cook for the former Barto Nursing Home, Portland,
before retiring in 1970. Previously, she was a cook for the
former Duckloe Hotel, Portland. During World War II, she was
employed by the former Goodrich Rubber Co., Norristown, Montgomery
County, where she was recognized for meritorious work.
Born in Belfast, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and
Sara (Longenback) Gruver.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bangor.
Survivors: Daughter, *** of Monson, Mass.; sons, ****
of Delaware Water Gap, Eugene of Pen Argyl, ***** of Bethlehem;
16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, four great-great-
grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ruth Vrontisis,
and a son, Edward.
