C. H. Gruver, Ex-Drummer and Carpenter
Charles H. Gruver, a former carpenter and ? drummer for the Rittersville Fire Co. Band, died yesterday in Allentown Hospital. He as 82.
He was born in the Rittersville section of East Allentown a son of the late Peter and Henrietta (Silvert) Gruver. He was a member of East Allentown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He was employed as a carpenter until 20 years ago and then worked for the Everson Electric Co of Allentown for 21 years, retiring
On Thanksgiving day he and his wife the former Ellen E. Krasley, observed their 61st wedding anniversary.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Thomas J. and Russell P. Five Daughter, Mabel wife of Charles Wagner, Hattie wife of Rudolph Brunner: Edna wife of Eugene Brokloff, and Madeline, wife of Rudolph Schmaldienst all of Allentown and Catherine wife of Karl Szmodisof Hellertown,
Services will be 12 p.m. Monday in the Trexler Funeral Home, 2825 Highland St. Allentown, with calling hours 7-08:30 p.m. Sunday. |
