Jay H. Griffith, 78, of Bethlehem Township, formerly
of Scotrun, died Monday, July 3, in his home. He was
the husband of the late Elizabeth (Banko) Griffith.
He worked at Victaulic Corporation of America, formerly
of West Easton, for 29 years until retiring in 1980. Previously,
he was a police officer in the former West Easton Police
Department.
Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Arthur H. and Aleta
(Unangst) Griffith.
He was a graduate of the former Eckels School of Mortuary
Science, Philadelphia.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Safety First Volunteer Fire Company,
West Easton, National American Legion and 89th Infantry Division
Society of World War II.
Survivors: Son, Edward, with whom he resided; daughter,
Deborah Hill of Palmer Township; sister, Eleanor Young of
Wilson and a grandson.
Private graveside services: At the convenience of the family
in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township. No calling
hours. Arrangements, Strunk Funeral Home, 2101 Northampton
St., Wilson.
