Charles H. Fox, Veteran Dies At Castle Point
Charles H. Fox, 41, of Hellertown road, near Hilton street,
Cedarville, died Monday night at 8:30 o'clock at the Veteran's
Hospital, Castle Point, N.Y. Mr. Fox was well known among local
veteran of the World War, having served with Company A., 149th
Machine Gun Battalion of the rainbow Division (City Guards)
and was gassed in action. He was formerly employed as a spinner
at the Stewart silk mill but was compelled to give up his work
last February, because of ill heath. For 11 weeks he was a
patient at the "Veterans" Hospital, League Island,
Philadelphia, and two weeks ago was transferred to the Castle
Point Hospital.
Mr. Fox was unmarried and was a son of Mrs. Louisa and the
late Daniel Fox, of Cedarville. He is survived by his mother
and these brothers and sisters: Clarence Fox, South Side; Mrs.
Ralph Smock, Wilson Borough; Mrs. Margaret Eynon, at home;
Mrs Carrie Kenrupp, New York, and Irwin Fox, South Side.
He was a member of St. Peter's Reformed Church; South Easton
Council No. 590 F.P.A.; Rice-Ebner Post, No. 588, American
Legion, and Pennsylvania Chapter, Rainbow Division Veterans.
The body has been brought to Easton and a military funeral
is being arranged by the Rainbow Division Veterans and Rice-Ebner
Post. |
