Death Claims Mary Deemer
Summons Fremont Woman Who Had Been Ill for Some Time
Devotion to Invalid's Mother a beautiful Feature of Her Life
After an illness of five weeks, the last several days of which assumed a serious aspect, Miss Mary Deemer died Monday morning at 3 o'clock at the home of her mother, Mrs. Anna Deemer, 1022 Hays avenue. Death was attributed to gastric poisoning from which she suffered severely the last few days of her life. Saturday morning her condition became very critical, and from that time on the little hope was entertained for her recovery.

Miss Mary Deemer was born at Easton, Pa., on the 30th of August 1954, and was the only daughter of William A. (Deceased) and Mrs. Anna Kiefer Deemer. At the age of four she came with her parents to Fremont, and has ever since resided in this city.

Miss Deemer was one of the sweetest and most lovable characters in Fremont. She was a woman of unusual Strength of character, and her many admirable qualities and her gentle kindly ways warmly endeared her to the hearts of those with whom she came in close contact. For the past number of years she has tenderly cared for her invalid mother at their home on Hayes avenue and the devotion and self-sacrifice which she ever manifested in her mother's behalf will live as a beautiful memory of her life work.

Her whole life was interwoven with the progress of the local Methodist Episcopal Church, of which she was a devoted member from childhood. Her activities in life were closely associated with every department of the church,. She was a life member of the Foreign Missionary Society and the interest and enthusiasm which she constantly infused into that department was a subject of high commendation among its members. She was also a character member of the Epworth League, and through her tireless efforts did much to advance the interests of that organization in earlier years.

She possesses in the highest sense of the word a truly Christian spirit and gained her greatest pleasure in life in her devotion and Self-sacrifice to others. Kind and sympathetic, unselfish and ever thoughtful of the wishes of her friends, she was the character of woman who enriches and makes more beautiful the lives of all with whom she was affiliated.

She leaves to survive her and morn her departure an aged mother and two brothers, Dr. Horace Deemer of Antwerp and Dr. W. R. Deemer of this city. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family home, conducted by Rev. E.D. Whitlock. Interment in Oakwood cemetery.
