J. Russell DeYoung
J. Russell DeYoung, 70, Stroudsburg, R. D. 3, died at 6:20
p.m. yesterday at his home. He had been ill for some time.
Mr. DeYoung was born in Stroudsburg, a son of the late Arlington
and Frances DeYoung. He lived all his life in Monroe County.
He was employed as a clerk in a state liquor store in East
Stroudsburg for 12 years. Before that he was associated with
his father in the operation of a grocery store at North Ninth
and Main streets, Stroudsburg. He also operated a service
station at that location.
He was a ember of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Stroudsburg,
He was a veteran of World War I, and served with the 52nd
Pioneer Infantry.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mabel F. DeYoung; a son, John
a., Phoenix, Ariz., and a daughter Charita D., at home.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Dunkelberger-Westbrook
Funeral Home, Stroudsburg
