Mrs. Ackerman, 83, Operated Grocery Store in Easton
Mrs. Lillie May Ackerman, 83, of 1023 Lincoln St., died last
night at Easton Hospital. She was hosptialized two weeks.
Mrs. Ackerman was the widow of Harrison Ackerman who died
in 1949. She and her husband formerly operated a grocery store
at 634 Centre St.
Born Dec. 12, 1879, in Easton, she was a daughter of the late
Jeremiah and Annie Vogel Ackerman.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, it's
Bible Class and Women's Guild, and was superintendent of it's
Home Department until recently. She also was a member of Charity
Rebecca Lodge, Easton, and it's Past Grand Club and the South
Side Hospital Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Golden
Age Club.
Survivors include a daughter Naomi, wife of George G. Van
Emburgh, with whom she reisded; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Krial,
Nazareth, and Mrs. Leah Gangwere, Easton; four grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren. A son, Paul, died in 1959, and
another son Francis, died last July.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Stunk Funeral
Home, Easton. |
