Quakertown?s Oldest Resident Passes Away
Franklin Bartholomew, 90, oldest male resident of Quakertown, died Tuesd ay morning at 3 o?clock in Gehman?s hospital, Quakertown. He was a nati ve of Haycock township, Bucks County, son of the late John and Victoria (n ee Frankenfield) Bartholomew, and the last member of a family of six child ren.
His wife preceded him in death eighteen years ago He is survived by his so n, Charles, of Quakertown, and three grandchildren, Mules and Mrs. Leroy K eller, of Quakertown and William P. Bartholomew, superintendent of coina ge in the United State Mint at Philadelphia. Three great grandchildren al so survive the nonagenarian.
Mr. Bartholomew was affiliated fraternally with the Knights of Pythi as of Trumbauersville, and with the Senior American Mechanics of Quakertow n.
The funeral will be held from Strunk?s funeral home, 821 West Broad Stree t, Quakertown, on Thursday afternoon at 2 o?clock, Rev. Charles E. Hess, Q uakertown, officiating at the services. Interment will be made in Union ce metery of that place. |
