Charles R. Hartz, 63, of 332 E. Goepp St., Bethlehem, died Monday in St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Marilyn (Knecht) Hartz. They observed their 39th wedding anniversary last May.

Hartz was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 32 years before retiring in 1983 as a time study observer in the industrial engineering department.

Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late William and Helen (Frankenfield) Hartz.

He was a member of College Hill Moravian Church, Bethlehem.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific.

Survivors: Wife; son **** of Bethlehem; daughters, ***** of Stroudsburg, and ****** of Bethlehem; brother Richard of Bethlehem Township; sisters, Mrs. Loretta Browning of Allentown and Mrs. Doris Hettlinger of Phoenix, Ariz., and five grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem. Call 10-11 a.m. Thursday
