Death of Peter Garis
Peter Garis a native of South Easton and a veteran of the Civil War,
died this morning at the home of his son, Henry Garis, at Rittersville,
aged 80 years. His son, with whom he resided, is the only near survivor.
Mr. Garis' wife died about four years ago, and following her demise
he continued to live on the South Side until a few months ago, when
because of ill health, he went to live with his son. Deceased was a
son of the long deceased Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Garis.
The remains will be brought to this city next Sunday afternoon at
3 o'clock. Service will be held in Hay's chapel and interment will
be made in the adjoining cemetery.
