Eli Buzzard, 82, Monroe Official
Eli Buzzard, 82, former street commissioner in Stroudsburg, died yesterday in Frutcheys, Middle Smithfield Township, Monroe County, He made his home there with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Buckman for the last several years.
Living retired in recent years. Mr. Buzzard served as street commissioner for 13 years. He operated blacksmith business in Monroe County for many years. For 18 years he was employed by the state Department of Highways, working on Maintenance and road building operations.
Mr. Buzzard was a member of East Stroudsburg Lodge 219, Elks, the Sons, of Union Veterans and the P. O. S. of A.
A nephew, Dr. Floyd Buzzard, lived in Altoona.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, at 2:30 p.m. at the Dunkelberger and Westbrook funeral home, Stroudsburg. The Rev. Francis C. Thomas, pastor of Stroudsburg, Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Stroudsburg Cemetery
