Charles Bixler, Retired Easton Letter Carrier
Charles F. Bixler, 81, formerly of 1936 Fairview Ave., Wilson, died Saturday at the home of his son, Charles R. Bixler, 2882 Bronson Blvd, Kalamazoo, Mich.

Mr. Bixler retired 14 years ago as a letter carrier of the Easton Post office. He then was employed in the maintenance department of Dixie Cup, Wilson. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Easton.

Mr. Bixler was born in Mauch Chunk, now Jim Thorpe, on Nov 4, 1879. He lived a few years with his son in Flemington until a year ago when they moved to Kalamazoo.

The only survivor besides his son, is a granddaughter, Brenda A. Bixler, Kalamazoo. His wife, the former Helen Reinhhold, died in 1953.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Easton.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton.

Charlie S. Bixler
The funeral of Charles F. Bixler, 81, formerly of 1936 Fairview Ave., Wilson, was held this afternoon at the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton. Mr. Bixler died Saturday at the home of his son, Charles R. Bixler, 2882 Bronson Blvd., Kalamazoo, Mich.

Rev. Richard W. Lundin, pastor of St. John ‘s Lutheran Church, Easton, officiated. Interment was in Easton Cemetery. The pallbearers were William L. Sharkey, Robert W. Walton, Harold J. Buerlen, George W. Diehl, and Homer V. Werkheiser, all fellow employee of Mr. Bixler of the Easton Post Office, and Theodore Lightcap.
