Phyllis Ann Flyte, 68, of Saylorsburg, formerly of Nazareth, died Sunday, March 22, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. She was the wife of Sherwood Flyte, with whom she shared 16 years together.
Born July 22, 1940, in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Florence (Bender) Young.
Phyllis loved the beach and especially enjoyed trips with her family to Wildwood, N.J.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
In addition to her loving husband, Sherwood, she is survived by a son, Mark Schuttert of Saylorsburg; two stepsons, Gary Flyte and his wife, Patricia, of Saylorsburg and Todd Flyte and his wife, Sherry, of Blakeslee; a brother, Sterling Young and his wife, Gloria, of Belfast; four grandchildren: Robert Schuttert of Kunkletown, Ray Flyte and his wife, Christina, of Saylorsburg and Timothy and Tiffany Flyte, both of Blakeslee; four great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Lori Schuttert of Kunkletown; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her late husbands, Charles Walters and Robert Schuttert, she was predeceased by four brothers: Carl, Donald, Elwood and Francis "Speck" Young.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28, in the Belfast Union Cemetery.
