Mrs. Louisa Young McFall, 94 widow of Isaac D. McFall, one of Easton’s oldest residents, died at 5:15 yesterday afternoon at her home, 163 West St., Joseph Street, South Side, of infirmities incident to old age. She was alert and interested in her many callers until almost the end and was only sick a few days.
Mrs. McFall was born at Martin’s Creek, Lower Mt. Bethel, on October 2, 1838, and was a daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Frey Young. She was one of a family of 12 children, all of whom are dead with the exception of one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Gold, Pen Argyl.
On June 18, 1859, she was married to Mr. McFall, who was then a resident of Martin’s Creek. In 1871, the couple moved to Easton and resided here ever since. Mr. McFall died on November 8, 1930. Mr. and Mrs. McFall were married 71 years.
One daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. McFall, Norma McFall Collar, wife of Dr. Charles Collmar, of this city and at present member of City council. Mrs. Collmar died in February 1925.
The nearest surviving relatives of deceased are her sister, Mrs. Gold, and one granddaughter, Miss Rida Collmar, a teacher in the Wolf Junior High School. Mrs. McFall was a member of the Second M. E. Church, South Side. |
