Charles W. Wolslayer, 65, of 2717 Bushkill St., Easton, died
Saturday in Easton Hospital.
He was a captain with the Palmer Township Police Department
until retiring last February after 45 years of service. During
that time, he served as acting chief and also as a juvenile
officer. He was also a special deputy sheriff of Northampton
County.
Born in Easton, he was a son of the late J. Oscar and O. Marie
(Mutchler) Wolslayer.
He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church,
Wilson.
Wolslayer was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a graduate of Churchman's Business College, Easton
and the Pennsylvania Institute of Criminology.
He was a past president of Le-Hampton Lodge No. 35, Fraternal
Order of Police, Easton, and was a volunteer at Easton Hospital,
serving over 4,000 hours.
He was a charter member of the Palmer Township Historical
Society and the Palmer Township Alert 5CB Club. He was also
an honorary citizen of Boys' Town, Nebraska.
Survivors: Cousins.
Services: 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and
Northampton streets, Easton; Mass at 10 a.m. in the church.
