Mrs. John Wolfe, Operated Store in the Glendon Area
Mrs. Bessie I. Wolfe, 81, of 178 E. Wayne Ave., Easton, died Tuesday in Easton Hospital. She had been in failing health for several years.
For several years she was a sales clerk for Reininger’s Jewelry Store, Easton, and during the 1930’s and 1940’s she and her husband, John Wolfe, operated Wolfe’s general Store, Lucy’s Crossing.
Born in Lucy’s Crossing on June 28, 1899, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Katie Jacoby White.
She was a member of the College Hill Presbyterian church, Easton, and the Women’s Club of Easton.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, ***** and *****, both of Forks Township; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A daughter, Joan Wolfe, died in an airplane crash in 1951.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton. Interment will be in Hay’s Cemetery, Easton. |
