Mrs. Anthony J. Faas
Mrs. mary M. Weygandt Faas, wife of Anthony J. Faas, died last evening
at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Archibald Morrison, 3006 East
Lancaster avenue, Wayne, Pa., of general debility after a week's illness.
She was 83 year of age last week.
Mrs. Faas was a native of Easton and was a daughter of the late Joshiah
M and Rosanna C. Weygandt. She was married to Mr. Faas in Philadelphia
in 1871 and the couple resided in that city for many years. Mr. Faas
retired from active work as an artist, and illustrator a number of
years ago and he and his wife spend their summers at Effort, Monroe
County and their winters in St. Petersburg, Fla. In February they went
to the home of their granddaughter, Mrs. Morrison at Wayne to make
a viist on Februarty 28 Mr and Mrs. Faas celebrated the 60th anniversary
of their wedding. Relatives and friends assisted in observing that
happy event.
Her husband survives with two children; C. Edward Fass, of Paterson,
N.J., and Mrs. S. D. Conwell, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and six grandchildren;
Mrs. John Jamison, Manila, Phillippine Islands, Mrs. Edward Munns,
Philadelphia; J. Danby Conwell, of Detroit, Mich; Lewis a. Conwell,
Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Archibald Morrison of Wayne, Pa., and Miss
L. E. Cowell, of St. Petersburg, Fla. She also leaves two great-grandchldren.
Mrs. Faas frequently visited in Easton and many friends here.
The body will be brought to this city on Monday, arriving about noon
and will be interred in the Easton cemetery. |
