Mahlon M. Werkheiser, 70, of Springtown, died Dec. 7 in the
Visiting Nurse Association Hospice at St. Luke's Hospital,
Fountain Hill. He was married to Marjorie E. (Hixson) Werkheiser
for 45 years in September.
He was a shipper for E.W. Knauss Dried Beef, Quakertown, for
23 years before retiring. Previously, he worked for the former
Gutshall Chevrolet, Hellertown.
Born in Lower Saucon Township, he was a son of the late William
T. and Bertha (Adams) Werkheiser.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Springtown.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a life member
of the Disabled Veterans Association.
Survivors: Wife; sons, *****. of Hellertown, *****. of Bethlehem;
brother, Walter H. of Plantation, Fla.; sister, Alberta Smith
of Riegelsville; three grandchildren, a great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Faith.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Heintzelman Funeral Home, 326
Main St., Hellertown. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
