William H. Walter
William H. Walter, died 2:55 o’clock this morning at his home, 1017 Butler street, this city after an illness of several days of paralysis. The deceased has been ill for some time but had partially recovered. Last Saturday morning at nine o’clock he was stricken with paralysis which hastened his death. Mr. Walter was widely known as a restaurant keeper, having been in the business in this city for forty-eight years, half of which time conducted the restaurant in the opera house. The deceased was a great traveler and has made a trip around the world and numerous trips along the Atlantic Coast. He was a native of Easton, and a son of the late Peter and Sarah Walter, and was born on June 19, 1835. He was twice married and survived by a son of his first marriage, Charles F. Water of Philadelphia, his widow, and one brother, Levi F. Walter, a justice of the peace in Bethlehem. Deceased was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, of the South Side.
