GERALD E. VINCENT SR.
Gerald E. Vincent Sr., 68, of 94 Kiernan Ave., Hellertown, died Monday in St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Eva M. (Zellner) Vincent. They were married 46 years in February.
Vincent worked at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 35 years, retiring in 1984 as a pusher operator in the coke oven division. While there, he was a shop steward for 15 years and a trustee of Local 2600 for five years.
Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Stanley J. and Verna V. (Frankenfield) Vincent.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bethlehem. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 155th Battalion of the infantry in the Pacific Theater. He received the Purple Heart and three Battle Stars.
Survivors: Wife; sons, Gerald E. Jr. of Whitehall Township, Bruce of Bethlehem and Timothy of Allentown; sisters, Betty Gasparetti in New Jersey, Hilda, wife of Earl Herster, and Ethel, wife of John Horvath, both of Bethlehem, and Shirley, wife of George Schulberger of Hellertown; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
