L. Allen Uhler, Bookkeeper, was Clerk for Draft
L. Allen Uhler, of 1423 Derhammer St., Forks Township, died unexpectedly last night. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Easton hospital. He was under a physician’s care about five years. He was 66.
Born on June 6, 1895, in forks Township, Mr. Uhler was a son of the late Marcus and Lizzie Richards Uhler. He was a lifelong resident of the Easton Area.
Mr. Uhler was a veteran of World War I. he was a retired bookkeeper for the Porsche diesel Division of American Mannex, Easton. He was clerk for the Easton drafter board during World War II.
Mr. Uhler was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He also was a member of Forks Lutheran Church, forks township.
Surviving are his widow, the former Esther L. Spangenberg; two sons, Dr. A. Frederick Uhler, Washington, N.J and Dr. Roger O. Uhler, Parkersburg, W. Va.; a brother, Dr. Chester Uhler, Washington, D.C. and five grandchildren.
