Howard E. Stoudt
Howard E. Stoudt, 73 years old, one of Bethlehem’s oldest contractors who constructed the Bell Telephone building, this city, and built the addition to the Northampton County Jail, died yesterday morning in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. Mr. Stoudt retired in 1925, his son Morris taking over the business.
Mr. Stoudt was born in Moore Township, Northampton County, a son of the late William and Mary Paulus Stoudt. He started in the contracting business in 1896 in old Bethlehem Borough. While active he constructed many outstanding building in the Lehigh Valley. He was a member of Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church, Bethlehem.
Surviving are a son, Morris, of Riegelsville, R.D.1; two grandchildren and a brother Clayton Stoudt, of Bethlehem. |
