Frank Stone, 79, Stewartsville, Stricken Fatally
Frank Stone, 79, Stewartsville funeral director and president of the Stewartsville Water Co., died unexpectedly at about 2 p.m. yesterday at this home, Hew as in poor health several years.

Active in community affairs, Mr. Stone was a former coroner of Warren County and Greenwich Township clerk and assessor. He was one of the organizers of the water company and has served as president in 1935.

Mr. Stone was born March 1, 1880, in Stewartsville, a son of the late John and Levinia Stone. He operated the funeral business for 33 years, succeeding his father. The Stone family operated a funeral service in Stewartsville for two centuries.

During World War II, Mr. Stone was a member of the Selective Service Board in Warren County. Mr. Stone and his wife, the former Eva Hawk, would have observed their 58th wedding anniversary on October 16.

Mr. Stone was a member of America Advocate Council 64, Sons and Daughters of Liberty, Washington; Phillipsburg Lodge 395, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association. Tri-County Funeral Directors Association, and Stewartsville Presbyterian Church. He was an honorary member of Mecsey Bishop Post 436, American Legion, and the American Legion Home Association, both of Stewartsville.

Surviving, in addition to his widow, are two daughters, Mary B., wife of Willard Baylor Sr., North Andover, Mass., and Mrs. Evelyn E. Van Emberg, Allentown; two sisters, Miss Tillie Stone, St4ewartsville, and Mrs. Mary Fox, Lykens, Dauphin County, eight grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Stone Funeral Home, Stewartsville.
