Man and Woman Killer, 4 Injured When Driver Loses Control of Car Descending 7th Street Pike Hill.
Andrew Stolz, 46 North Sixth Street, Insurance Agent, Meets Instant Death – Sister-in-law, Mrs. Leonard Stolz, Dies Five Minutes after Admission to Hospital.
Two persons were kills and four were injured shortly after midnight when the automobile of Andrew Stolz, 28, of 36 North Sixth Street, rolled over half a dozen times when he lost control of the car on the North Seventh Street pike, about a mile north of the city line.
The dead:
Andrew Stolz, aged 28, of 26 North Sixth Street, agent for the John Hancock Insurance Co. Killed instantly. His head was crushed, his back broken and both arms and legs fractured as he was pinned in the wreckage.

Mrs. Leonard Stolz, aged 23, 511 North Seventh Street, sister-in-law of Andrew, died in the Sacred Heart hospital five minutes after she was admitted. Fracture at the base of the skull and internal injuries.
The injured:
Ethel Mae Stolz, 4 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Stolz; lacerations of the head. Condition not Serious, Patient of Sacred Heart Hospital.

Leonard Stolz, aged 24, 511 North Seventh Street, treated for lacerations of the head and arms at the Sacred Heart Hospital.

Marie Balsal, aged 26, of511 North Seventh Street, laceration of the head. Condition not serious, Allentown hospital Reports.

John Slenker, aged 23, 801 North Eighth Street, abrasion of the face; discharged after being treated at the Sacred Heart Hospital.

Shocked over the tragic death of his young wife and his brother, Leonard Stolz said that his brother, Mr. Slenker, tighter with his wife and daughter and Miss Balsal, had driven to Egypt to visit friend during the evening.

They were on their way back to Allentown and had just come over the crest of the hill a mile beyond the city line on the Seventh street pike when Andrew according to Leonard passed a car also coming toward Allentown and that as approaching car made it necessary for him to cut short in front of the car which he had just passed.

In doing this he apparently lost control of the car, its rear end leaving the roadway. Before he could get the machine into a straight pat it upset and rolled over what he believes was half a dozen times.

Tire burns on the concrete paving indicate that Stolz lost control of the car more than 150 feet from the place where it finally came to rest on its side of the highway.

A hundred feet from the wreckage the hood of the car, a sedan was found and from this point to where the victims were taken from the debris by passing motorist glass and woodwork was strewn.

Walter Hepner, Northampton baker, was one of the first on the scene and helped get the six out of the wreck. A passing motorist rushed to a nearby telephone called the Sacred Heart Hospital and police headquarters.

However, before ambulances arrived at the scene motorist had taken the injured to the Sacred Heart hospital and to the Allentown hospital. The body of Mr. Stoltz was taken to the hospital in the ambulance. Slenker the last to arrive at the hospital. Told a story identical to that of Leonard Stolz.

Mrs. Stolz was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Stolz, of Emaus. The child injured in the accident is the only one in the family. Mrs. Stolz has several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Stolz is the son of Mrs. Alice Stolz, of this city. He is survived by his wife, his mother and the brother Leonard, who was also hurt I the accident.

Coroner Alexander M. Peters was called and he immediately began an investigation.

The Leonard Stotzes have an apartment in the home of Miss Balsal’s mother at 511 North Seventh Street. When the party left the house last night she was invited to join the ride which had such fatal results.

Insurance Book Missing
Both Mr. Stoltz and Mr. Slenker had their debit books with them at the time of the accident. The book of Mr. Stolz has been turned over to the police, but Mr. Slenker’s apparently was picked out of the car by spectators. Since it is of little value to the person having it, return of the book will be greatly appreciated.
