Rowland Warren "Butch" Snyder, 89, of Allentown, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, in his home. He was the husband of the late Arline D. (Webb) Snyder.
He taught in the Whitehall-Coplay School District for 43 years before retiring in 1973. He received a teaching certificate from Kutztown University in 1930 and received a degree in 1935 from Muhlenberg College. He completed graduate studies at Lehigh University.
Born in Fullerton, he was a son of the late Ralph W. and Lilly M. (Kiefer) Snyder.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.
He was a member of Sons of the American Revolution, Valley Forge Chapter, president of American Association of Retired Persons, Allentown Chapter 699, 1980-82, past president of the Whitehall Teachers Association, and past treasurer of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, Lehigh Chapter.
Survivors: Daughters, ***** and *****, both of Allentown; four granddaughters, six great-grandchildren.
Services: 1 p.m. Monday, R.P. Haas Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall. Call noon to 1 p.m. Monday.
