Robert F. Shimer, 72, of 115 Snyder Lane, Springfield Township, Delaware County, died Monday in the Holiday Inn Parking lot, Hanover Township. Northampton County Coroner Joseph Reichel ruled the death voluntary due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Shimer was the husband of *****(Matter) Shimer.

He was a teacher in the Upper Darby School District before retiring.

Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of Esther Franks of Bethlehem.

He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Upper Darby.

He was a commander in the Navy during World War II.

Survivors: Wife and mother, and a stepdaughter, *****, at home.

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Memorial Park, Bethlehem. No calling hours. Arrangements, Lester F. Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
