George D. Shimer
George D. Shimer, a former resident of Bangor, died yesterday morning at his home, West Shokan, N.Y., on his 85th birthday anniversary. Mr. Shimer formerly as a slate quarry operator in the Bangor area, retiring 20 years ago when he moved to West Shokan.
Surviving are his wife, Bertha Mae Shimer, two daughters, Mrs. George B. Plush, Sr., of Bangor, and Mrs. Sarah Mcleod, of Easton R.D.2; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Grace L. Shimer, of Succasunna, N.J.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the West Shokan Baptist Church. Burial will be in Olive Bridge cemetery, N.Y. |
