Carl Shimer, Lafayette Grad, Ex-Warren Foundry Official
Carl Shimer, 70, of 271 Main St., Saugus, mass., a graduate of Lafayette College, Class of 1924, died Saturday while visiting friends in Ipswich, Mass, Death was caused by a heart attack.

Mr. Shimer was born in Martins Creek, a so of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Shimer. He lived in Saugus the last 21 years.

He was employed as a foreman for Warren Pipe & Foundry Co., Philipsburg, from 1924 to 1933. He was general foreman of Warren Pipe Co. of Massachusetts, Everett, Mass, from 1933 to 1954. He was last employed by the Boston and Maine Railroad for nine years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Melrose, Mass., the Barry Class of the Church and the New England Lafayette Alumni Association.

Survivors include his widow, the former Grace E. Stopp; a son, John C. Stafford-Wayne Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert D. Heilemen, Winchester, Mass; three sisters, Mrs. Charles O. Butler, Beverly N.J. Mrs. Stanley Lum, Easton, and Mrs. Lester Bartran, Phillipsburg, and six grandchildren.

The funeral was held yesterday at the First Baptist Church, Melrose. Interment was in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, West Peabody, Mass.
