Mrs. Emma A. Pensyl
Mrs. Emma Alice Pensyl, 85 years old, widow of Edward Pensyl, died yesterday morning at her home near Johnsonville, after an illness of several years. She was born near Johnsonville, April 1, 1856, daughter of the late Harrison and Mary Labar Shannon, and spent all her life in that vicinity. Her husband died 31 years ago. She was one of the oldest member of the Johnsonville Lutheran church, both in length of membership and in age
She is survived by three sons, Frank, Luther and Albert Pensyl, all of Mt. bethel; three daughters, Mrs. George Houseman, Mt. Bethel; Mrs. Henry Houseman, East Bangor, and Mrs. Stella Pensyl Weidman with whom she resided; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Bartow, of Easton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:40 p.m. at the Horton funeral home, Johnsonville, in charge of the Rev. L.L. Lengel, pastor of Johnsonville Lutheran Church, and Interment will be in Stone Church cemetery. |
