Luther L. Serfass -- Easton H.S. graduate

Luther L. "Lu" Serfass, 85, of Carneys Point, N.J., died Thursday, June 1, in his home.

He had worked as a fire inspector at the DuPont Co.'s Carneys Point works, retiring in 1977 after 40 years.

He had been a longtime resident of Carneys Point. He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Penns Grove, N.J.

He was a 1932 graduate of Easton High School. He was a member of the Penns Grove Lodge No. 54 F&AM, Pennsville Forest No. 23 of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Consistory, Collingswood, and a life member of the Shrine Club of Delaware.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Doris E. Spears; a son, ***** of Harmersville, N.J.; a sister, Anna Seip of Easton; and four grandchildren.

Services are private and there are no calling hours. The Adams Funeral Home, New Jersey, is in charge of the arrangements.
