William Sandt, 71, Native of Easton
William H. Sandt, 71, a native of Easton, died yesterday in Warren Hospital where he had been admitted June 16 after being a guest at the Radiant Star Rest Home, Roxburg, N.J, since Aug 2, 1972
He was a timekeeper for the Bethlehem Steel Corp., retiring in 1968 after 25 ½ years of service. Previously he was employed for seven years by the Phillipsburg plant of Ingersoll-Rand Co.
Born on July 7, 1903, he was a son of the late Frank C. and Mary A. Messer Sandt.
He was a 1922 graduate of Easton High School, a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg, and its choir; Washington Camp 542, P.O.S of A., Easton and the Jersey Gents Chorus, Phillipsburg, a barbershop singing group.
An aunt and several cousins are the sole survivors.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Easton. Interment will be in Hay’s Cemetery.
