H. R. Rush, 69, Raised Prize Beagles in N.J.
Harold R. “Pat” Rush, 69, of Low’s Hollow road, Stewartsville R. D., died yesterday at his home.
He was a foreman on the drill floor of Ingersoll-Rand Co., where he was employed 47 years before retiring in 1973. he also owned Rushalong Kennel, where he raised beagles for field trials as hobby for 40 years. His dogs won the New Jersey championships in field trials two years in succession. He also was a judge and official infield trials throughout the northeast United States.
Born in Stewartsville on Oct. 23, 1908 he was a son of the late Robert B. and Susan Laubach Rush. He had lived in Stewartsville area all his life.
He was a member of Delaware Lodge No 52, F&AM of Phillipsburg, the Warren County Beagle Club and the Monroe Beagle Club.
Surviving are his wife, the former Bertha Mucha; one son, Robert, Bellmore, Long Island, NY. one brother, Leonard, Stewartsville; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Wismer, Alpha, and Mrs. Evelyn gill. Phillipsburg, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Rupell funeral home, Phillipsburg. Interment will be in the Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery, Delaware Lodge, F&AM will hold services at the funeral home at 8 p.m. tomorrow. |
