Edward Rush, Ex-Pahatcong Twp. Patrolman
Edward O. Rush, 63, of 1421 S. Main St. Phillipsburg a former
Pohatcong Township patrolman, was dead on arrival yesterday
afternoon at the Overlook Hospital, Summit N.J.
Mr. Rush was stricken int he parking lot of a doctor's office
in Springfield, N.J. He had been under a doctor's care for
some time.
Born in Phillipsburg, a son of the late John Walter and Stella
Piatt Rush, he lived all his life in Phillipsburg.
He was a night watchman for Bell & Howell Co., near Phillispburg,
for 15 years, retiring a year ago. Befroe that time he was
a detective for the Pennsylvania Railroad and served as a Pohatcong
partolman form July 1959 to March 1967.
He was a member of the Greenwich Presbyterian Church, Bloomsbury,
R.D.; Delaware Lodge 52, F&AM, Phillispburg; Warren County
Forest 14, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and Scottish Rite, Valley
of Trenton.
Survivng are his widow, the former Verna Williams, a son,
Edward W. L. Phillipsburg, a daughter, Mrs. Donald Voorhees,
Stewartsville, R.D. and two grandchildren. |
