Notes:
Edward G. Pop Ronemus, 92, of 111 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning,
PA died Wednesday evening in his home. He was the husband of
Alma Ronemus. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary
last July 30. Born in Nesquehoning, he was a son of the late
Edward and Lizzie (Garis) Ronemus. He retired after being a
self-employed milk distributor in Nesquehoning for 30 years.
He also worked 10 years at Mauch Chunk Lake Park. A World War
II veteran, he served as a tech sergeant for the Army Air Corps
with the Radar Company in Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines.
He was a lifelong resident of Nesquehoning and a member of
Meeds United Methodist Church in Nesquehoning. He was also
a member of the Nesquehoning American Legion and the Nesquehoning
Fire Company.
Survivors: Surviving with his widow are nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Amelia Johnson and
Margaret Gibson.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home,
81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning with the Rev. Joseph Healey
officiating. Call 6-8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Military
graveside services under the direction of the Panther Valley
Junior ROTC and the Nesquehoning United Veterans Association
will be held at Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.
Contributions: Memorial contributions may be made to the
Nesquehoning Fire Company in care of the funeral home. |
