Richard E . Roberts Sr., 65 of 5623 Sherwood Drive, formerly of Wilson Borough, was dead on arrival Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Easton Hospital after being stricken in his home.
He was a carpenter foreman with Local 600 Lehigh Valley since the early 1950's, retiring in 1990.
born May 1, 1928, in Broadway, N.J., he was a son of the late Jacob and Helen Kiefer Roberts. He served in the Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Memorial United Church of Christ in Wilson.
He graduated from Wilson High School in 1946.
He was a member of Dallas Lodge 496, F&AM of Easton, Easton Forest 35, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and Big Ridge Hunting Club in Pike County.
His wife, the former Doris M. Reichard, died March 2, 1993.
Surviving are a daughter, Diane L. Nicholas of Forks Township; two sons, Richard E. Jr. of Gilbert and Jeffrey C., at home; a sister, **** of Quakertown; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m.; Saturday in Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton street, Easton. Call 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. |
