Dr. C.A. Paulus, Bucks Physician, Stricken Fatally
Dr. Clarence A. Paulus, 67, practicing physician and former chief of the medical staff of Grandview Hospital, Sellersville, died Sunday night at the hospital.
Dr. Paulus was admitted to the hospital three after he collapsed at his home on Bethlehem pike near Quakertown. He suffered a heart ailment.
From 1917 to 1948 he practice medicine in Telford, except for a short time during World War I when he served as a first lieutenant in the Army Medical Corps. He went into the Army Medical Corps. He went into semi-retirement in 1948, but three years later resumed his practice in Perkasie.
Born at Green Pond, between Easton and Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Emmanuel and Sarah Silfies Paulus. He was a graduate of Muhlenburg College and in 1915 received his medical degree at the old Midico-Chirugical College, Philadelphia.
Dr. Paulus served his internship at Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia, and then established his practice in Telford. He was medical chief at the Sellersville hospital for many years.
He was a member of ST. Paul's Lutheran Church, Telford; the American Medical Association; Bucks County Medical Society; Valley Forge Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution; Pennsylvania German Society; Perkasie Chamber of Commerce; Perkasie Owls; Sellersville Moose, and Warren Royer Post 234, American Legion, of Souderton.
Dr. Pauls is survived by three brothers, Raymond W., Quintus E. and Elmer P. Paulus, all of Easton.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Sommers Funeral Home, Telford, Interment will be in Easton Heights Cemetery.
