Mrs. G. Ralph Smith
Mrs. Lena M. Smith, 73, of 700 Avenue A., Morris Park, Phillipsburg,
died last night at her home.
Born in Asbury, N.J., Sept 15, 1898, she was a daughter
of the late Martin W. and Phoebe Bickhart Nixon. She lived
in Lopatcong Township for the 45 years. Before that she resided
in Phillipsburg.
Her husband G. Ralph Smith, died in 1968.
Mrs. Smith was amember of Wesley United Methodist Church,
the Women's Bible Class and the WSCS of the Chruch, and was
a former Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include three sons, Earl J., Edmonds, Wash.; Westly
G. Stewartsville, and Clifford E., with the US. Air Force;
three daughters, Mrs. Beulah S. Rush, Stewartsville; Mrs.
Joan L. Hillyer and Mrs. Jean L. Sampson, both of Phillipsburg;
two brothers, Howard W. Nixon, address Unkown, and Gerald
D. Nixon, in Connecticut; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Otto, Easton,
and Mrs. Jennie Walters, Phillipsburg; 18 grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rupell
Funeral Home, Phillipsburg. Interment will be in Fairmount
Cemetery. |
